The Alaska End-of-Life Alliance was formed to assist Alaskans who are planning for, or who are at the end of their lives, by providing them end-of-life support. Alaska End-of-Life Alliance is an alliance of professionals and advocates who offer education, advocacy, and support services.

End-of-life support is the care provided to someone before, during, and after their death. This support encompasses a wide range of services including: advanced care planning and decision making; discussion about all aspects of death and dying; life review and legacy work; spiritual guidance and support; physical and emotional support; care of the body after death; and support for loved ones after a person has died.

Introducing: FISCAL SPONSORSHIP

fiscal sponsorship

In 2025, Alaska End-of-Life Alliance began sponsoring a charitable project, End-of-Life Options Alaska. We hope this is the first of many mission-aligned projects in AKEOLA's future.

For those unfamiliar with fiscal sponsorship, it comes in many arrangements but for us it can be broadly described like this:

Fiscal sponsorship allows a grassroots, mission-aligned project to operate under the "umbrella" of AKEOLA's organizational (nonprofit) structure for a period of time. This benefits projects because It takes a lot of time and energy to start a new nonprofit -- sponsored projects are able to spend more of those limited resources on mission-related endeavors. This benefits AKEOLA because it amplifies our mission throughout the state of Alaska by getting new, mission-aligned projects off the ground.
